Okay. Mail's arrived! I've been offered a place at University of Western Australia.. 2nd year. Semester starts on 23 July 2007, Orientation on the 16th.

=)

I got rejected by SMU! oh well. so sad. tt means i've gotta go Australia unless something weird happens along the application process that will set me scrambling and searching high and low for my NUS arts and social science acceptance form.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

But thank God for His Word! Without it, I think I'll be worrying day and night. God knows best. He knows the best path for me. It's hard to put faith in this verse, but I've got to choose to. And when I choose to, God will help me to have that kind of faith.

Anyway, I've been doing nothing the past few days. Not been reading His Word regularly. I did, but not with a heart that seeks Him through His Word. That's why I haven't received my spiritual food and nourishment during those few days. I've just been reading simply for the sake of reading, fulfilling my 'religious' obligation. But Christianity is not a religion. It is so much more than that. It is truly a relationship with God. Because our God is true and living. He doesn't just answer prayers. When we read His Word, we can really hear Him speaking to us. When we talk to Him, He will answer. When we are sad, He will comfort and He will lift our spirits. He is just so real. Sometimes others think that this is all fake but it is not. Our God is real. He is the true and living God.

Then why can't we see Him if He is so real? That's because we've sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they could see God. They hung out with Him just like we hang out with our friends. They could see God, hear His footsteps... But after they chose to disobey Him, God had to banish them from the Garden of Eden. He drove them out. That was the penalty of sin. We cannot approach a holy God with sin. Can you imagine a heaven with sin? A heaven with lustful eyes, wicked hearts and evil intent? It would be even more scary if sinful man had access to the tree of life.. therefore having everlasting life in his sinful state. Heaven would no longer be heaven then.

Therefore, because of man's sin, we lost the intimacy mankind once had with God. But what is the good news? The good news is that Christ died for us, therefore, whoever who accepts Him into his heart, will have his sins forgiven and is sin-sick soul cleansed. God Himself paid the price for our mistakes to restore the God-man relationship. Therefore, as the bible says, in Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

To receive Him into your heart, u don't have to offer food sacrifices or anything of the sort. Why? Because God Himself was the sacrifice. He paid the full price for our sins. There's no need to go through any rites.. Why? Because God is everywhere present. He can hear you from wherever you are. Even if u are in outerspace. =) He knows your every action and every word. So, to receive Him into your heart, you just simply need to tell Him that you want Him in your life, you want His forgiveness and cleansing. Tell Him that you want Him to take control of your life. It is that simple. When that is said and done, the Holy Spirit, will be in you, leading and guiding you to lead a life that's pleasing in God's sight. God doesn't promise us a smooth-sailing life after we receive Christ, He didn't say that there would be no struggles, but He did promise that He would always, always, be with us. And when God is for us, who can be against us? Against the storms of life, as long as we hold on to His hand, we shall rejoice in times of struggle, sing praises in times of hardship. Peace, love and joy shall fill our hearts as long as we choose to follow Him.

God bless! =) www.lighthouse.org.sg
